All of the daily log templates you'll ever need. Use our daily log templates to document your children's progress throughout their years of home school. This instant download includes templates that you can use and reuse as each of your children progress through their home school education.
Grade Level(s):
This resource includes daily log templates for pre-school/kindergarten, lower elementary (1st-3rd grade), upper elementary (4th-6th grade), middle school (7th-8th grade), and high school (9th-12th grade).
Why to Use:
Use this template to support your child in tracking their learning activities during home school. Having your child log their experiences promotes their independence and sense of responsibility, while also creating a useful record to meet state requirements (if applicable).
How to Use:
The templates can be printed for each school day and used to create a notebook for the year, or they can be imported into an app like Goodnotes to use digitally. For younger grades, there are circles to color for each activity they do in a day. For older grades, we have provided more writing space and prompts for recurring activities (daily and weekly regulars), long-term ideas, ongoing projects, and more.
When to Use:
Create an end-of-day routine as part of your daily home school schedule that includes completing the daily log.
Parent-Educator Tips:
The daily log is designed to take a few minutes at lower grade levels and up to 15 minutes for middle grades and above, as these students are encouraged to include more ideas and thoughts about their learning.
The daily log is a tool to encourage reflecting on the school day’s learning activities and to practice writing–including both penmanship (or typing) and organizing and expressing your child’s thoughts and ideas.
Each time your child starts using one of the daily log templates, provide support and guidance on how to complete each section. Plan to check in on your child’s log regularly and encourage your child to use their log as a way to share feedback with you.
Please note: All of our resources are for the purchaser’s use only. While we encourage you to use all of our resources as many times as you want to (including year after year), we ask that you do not provide copies to other people.
